Many will chastise the nature of nature.
It is senseless, is it not?
To be infuriated by an individual’s individuality,
And castigate every single one of their thoughts.
Would you tell a rose to surrender her thorns?
Criticize the moon’s soft light?
Would you torment the whispers of the wind?
Or cry at the frost’s bite?
Would you tell a mountain to give in to pressure?
Command a cave to cave in?
Order the river to run slightly slower?
Or laugh at the desert for shifting in the wind?
Would you insult the green of the trees?
Tell lightning its lighting is too fleeting?
Would you be troubled by the embers of fire?
Or shut eyes to the sunrise’s early greeting?
Will you critique the weather? Harass the clouds?
Persecute thunder for being off key?
Will you yell at the depths of the ocean?
Or be offended by the sun’s beam?
You may pick and prod without end.
But true satisfaction can’t be found in this.
The essence of nature does not fit under labels,
And in restraining one’s soul, you are powerless.
